GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Summer Associate will support the Environmental Affairs Team in recommending, defining, and implementing project control tools and standards for U.S., Canada, and Mexico operating and development solar and wind projects. The Summer Associate will focus on several initiatives based on business demands and may include technical or administrative projects as needed. This is a 10-week full-time, paid internship that will start on or around June 1, 2020.
Main accountabilities:
* Assist in preparing Solar Natural Assessment Programs (SNAP) for operating solar projects
* Assist in the implementation of EDPR's Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System (EHSMS) including managing a metadata analysis of environmental impacts across all operating projects
* Develop and refine internal control tools related to project cost estimates, services contracting, budgeting and scheduling
* Provide ongoing support to Environmental Affairs staff on development, construction, and operations projects based on Company priorities
Minimum qualifications:
* Current undergraduate (Junior or Senior) or graduate student in environmental science, biology, renewable energy managment, project management, or a related field
* Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Physical demands & working conditions:

* Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
* Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
* Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
